This course focuses on the visual development of cross-platform mobile apps with webMethods 9.7 Mobile Suite. Hands-on exercises are provided in addition to lecture and demonstrations. A scenario used in part of the hands-on exercises is a Bookstore app. Users of the app will be able to browse the book catalog, view details and submit ratings for books. The student will develop the Bookstore app visually, working with the Outline Editor of the Mobile Development perspective in Software AG Designer. Powerful UI concepts and a MVC-based app-architecture will be covered. Using Mobile Administrator, the Bookstore app will then be built for Android and iOS on a remote centralized build environment, and deployed on an Enterprise App Store. Doing so will allow users to install the app on real devices using the Enterprise App Store Client. Other Mobile Administrator capabilities like Mobile App Management (MAM) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) will be covered as well. A third Mobile Suite component covered in this training is the Enterprise Gateway Server which is about DMZ-level security. The student will learn using the rules framework provided in Enterprise Gateway Server to protect the internal resources against various kinds of threads and attacks.
